Welcome to the 72th Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
The Hunger Games are a trilogy of heart racing, action packed mind blowing books wrotten by Suzanne Collins, (The fantastic author who also wrote the Gregor series) The main character, Katniss Everdeen is a brave, extrodinary girl who is tossed into a world of cruel, calculated people, called the Capitol, who find amusement in 24 kids who are between the ages of 12-17, in a arena, fighting to stay alive. Now, I won't spoil anything, because I think almost all people will find these books amazing, and I encourage you to try reading them, (Though I must say: This book can be gory, and bloody. ) And before you go around picking either Team Peeta (<3) or Team Gale, read ATLEAST into the beginning of the third book, MockingJay. People change, guys. People Change...
Anyways, her are some videos, parodies, reviews and the movie soundtrack.
Reviews:
"While Katniss kills with finesse, Collins writes with raw power"
"Brilliantly plotted and perfectly placed... Engrossing"
"A plot-driven blend of suspense, science fiction, and romance."
Videos(and Parodies):
Hunger Games- Rules
Hunger Games- Come Away to the Water
I Wanna Go- Hunger Games
And lastly: some parting words:
Peeta: When I walk out of the shop
Katniss: Not again-
Peeta: This is what I see
Katniss: Peeta stop
Peeta: Katniss Everdeen is a-lookin at me!! I got a loaf in my hands and I aint afraid to throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it...
Katniss: You done?
Peeta: I'M PEETA AND I KNOW IT!
Now the Hunger Games Soundtrack:
1. Arcade Fire, "Abraham's Daughter" - An intense lullaby opens the soundtrack, with beastly distortion serving as bookends and militaristic percussion guiding Regine Chassagne's vocals. The title is a reference to the Biblical tale of Abraham's sacrifice.
2. The Secret Sisters, "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" - A gorgeous, sorrowful waltz that recalls the strained hope of Rue's song. The sentiment of the line "I know the present will not last/And tomorrow will be kinder" captures the spirit of the series.
3. Neko Case, "Nothing To Remember" - Case lends her sturdy alt-country twang to the soundtrack, forsaking her past and trying to get to "the finish line." A short, steady-handed plea.
Dance- As though no one is watching Love- As thoguh you've never been hurt Sing- As though no one can hear you Live- As though Heaven is on Earth
My beginning Advice
Live as though today was your last day, and don't forget, you never know when you won't see someone you love again, so don't ever say you hate them.
